Events

Events are the main operational unit in Tagmer.

Each event can contain:

  • event details and dates
  • registration fields
  • registration forms
  • participant records
  • badge templates
  • terms and conditions
  • scanning workflows

Event List

The Events page includes:

  • an overview section
  • active event count
  • total registration count based on badge holders
  • filtering for current, past, or all events

Each event card includes:

  • event title
  • venue
  • start and end dates
  • registration deadline
  • event status
  • a top-right action menu

Create an Event

Use the Create Event page to define the basic event details, registration behavior, badge fields, and access options for a new event.

Event Name

The public or internal name of the event.

This name is used throughout Tagmer to identify the event in event lists, registration workflows, badge templates, and operational pages.

This field is required.

Event Start Date & Time

The date and time when the event begins.

The start date cannot be in the past. Tagmer uses this value together with the end date to determine event timing and current or past status.

This field is required.

Event End Date & Time

The date and time when the event ends.

The end date must be the same as or later than the start date. Tagmer uses this value to determine whether an event is current or past.

This field is required.

Venue

The location or venue name for the event.

This can be a physical venue, virtual location, room name, or any location label your organization uses.

This field is required.

An optional image used to represent the event brand.

This image is shown on the registration form to illustrate the event. Supported image types include PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP. When selected, the image is optimized and uploaded with the event.

Include QR or Barcode on Badge

Enables QR, barcode, and PDF417 barcode workflows for the event.

This option depends on the organization plan. If the current plan does not include QR and barcode support, the checkbox is disabled.

Badge Registrations

The This event will have badge registrations option controls whether the event uses Tagmer registration fields for badge holder registration.

When enabled, Tagmer shows registration settings and badge fields.

When disabled, the event does not define registration fields and is expected to use another attendee source, such as CSV import.

Registration Deadline

The date and time when registration closes.

The deadline is required when badge registrations are enabled. It cannot be later than the event end date.

Max Registrations for Badges

The maximum number of badge registrations allowed for the event.

This value controls the event registration capacity for badge workflows.

Badge Fields

Badge fields define the attendee data collected for the event and available for badge templates.

When badge registrations are enabled, Tagmer adds these default fields:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Picture

Field Label

The human-readable name shown for the field.

Examples:

  • Company
  • Job Title
  • Dietary Requirement

For custom fields, Tagmer uses the label to generate the field key automatically.

Field Key

The internal identifier for the field.

The key is generated from the field label and is used by the system to store and reference field data. Default protected fields cannot have their keys changed.

Type

The kind of data the field stores.

Available types:

  • text: regular text input
  • email: email address input
  • image: image upload field
  • select: dropdown field

Required

Controls whether the attendee must provide this field during registration.

Required fields must be completed before the registration can be submitted.

Only appears when the field type is select.

Enter the available dropdown values as a comma-separated list.

Example:

Attendee, Speaker, Sponsor, Staff

Add From Catalog

If organization-level field catalog items exist, they appear as quick-add chips.

Use these to reuse standard fields across events.

Add Photo Field

Adds the Picture field back if it was removed.

The photo field is used for badge images and attendee photo workflows.

Add New Custom Field

Adds a new blank field to the event.

Use custom fields when the event needs extra attendee information beyond the default fields.

Reorder Fields

Drag fields using the grip icon to change their order.

The order can affect how fields appear in registration and related workflows.

Access Levels

Access levels define tiers or categories of access for attendees.

Examples:

  • General
  • VIP
  • Staff
  • Speaker
  • Sponsor

The default access level is staff.

Use Add Access Level to create additional access levels.

Access Statuses

Access statuses define the possible approval or access states for an attendee.

Default statuses are:

  • Approved
  • Denied
  • Under Review

Each status has an internal value generated automatically from the title.

Examples:

  • Approved becomes approved
  • Under Review becomes underReview

Use Add Access Status to create additional statuses.

At least one access status must remain.

Create Event

After all required fields are valid, click Create Event.

Tagmer creates the event, uploads the event logo if one was selected, saves the configured registration fields and access settings, then returns to the Events page.

Edit an Event

Use the event edit page to update:

  • event metadata
  • registration deadline
  • feature-specific settings
  • available event fields

Event Status

The event list distinguishes:

  • current events
  • past events

This status is determined from the event end date.

  • edit
  • registration forms
  • participants
  • templates
  • terms and conditions
  • scans
  • delete

Availability may depend on permissions and plan features.
